In Africa and Asia early human beings first made the kind of stone tools they needed to hunt and kill large animals . With these weapons a small group of hunters could get enough meat at one time to feed many people . Between times , seeds , fruits , and roots made good eating . Because the supply of food was plentiful , the number of people increased .
A group of related families , including children and the elderly , would stay close to the large animals they lived on . As lone as there were \"new\" spaces to move into and plenty of game , the growing population could survive(生存) . When such an organized group became too large for its members to travel together comfortably , it would split up . In this way , big-game hunters moved into Africa , Europe , and Asia .
The best areas of the world for human beings were those where many kinds of food could be found . When one kind became scarce , people could use another to keep from starving .
As the population grew , some people had to move into the Arctic after big game. There they found bears , seals(海豹)and fish . But because there were so few kinds of animals , and almost no plants , life was very difficult .
